Two Sisters Spice Level Guide

How we rate heat across the menu — mild, medium, Thai spicy — and which dishes carry a spicy tag by default, so you can order Lao-Thai food to your own tolerance.

How ToSpicyMenu Guide

Lao-Thai heat is real, but it is also adjustable. Here is how we think about it so you can order to your own tolerance.

Our three labels

  • Mild — chilli pulled back; flavour first, heat as a whisper.
  • Medium — our default balance; present but not punishing.
  • Thai spicy — for people who mean it. Fresh chilli, proper heat.

Dishes that are spicy by default

These carry a spicy tag: larb, som tam, chilli basil fried rice. Ask for mild and we ease off.

Dishes that are mild unless you ask

Pad thai, penang curry, pad see ew and the starters are mild-to-medium by default. Want more heat? Ask for chilli on the side or "Thai spicy."

Pro move for groups

Order the shared salads at medium, then add one Thai-spicy dish for the heat-seekers. Everyone eats the same table, nobody suffers. Full plan in the feast guide.
