Whether you're a Lao Thai veteran or trying it for the first time, here's what to look out for at Two Sisters. These are the dishes that define our kitchen and keep our regulars coming back.

Don't Miss: The Essentials

Larb

The national dish of Laos. Minced meat (chicken, beef, or pork) tossed with toasted rice powder, fresh herbs, lime, and chilli. Nothing else tastes quite like it. It's bright, herbal, and deeply satisfying — the perfect introduction to Lao flavours.

Pad Thai

Classic Thai noodles done properly. Not the pale, sweet versions you find elsewhere. Our Pad Thai uses tamarind for that authentic sour-sweet balance, finished with crushed peanuts, egg, and bean sprouts. It's the Canberra comfort classic for a reason.

Tom Yum Soup

Hot, sour, fragrant. Exactly as it should be. This aromatic soup combines lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, chilli, and mushrooms in a clear, punchy broth. It's the perfect starter — or remedy for any day that needs a little lift.

Papaya Salad (Som Tum)

Crunchy, spicy, tangy. A Lao staple that's completely addictive. Shredded green papaya pounded with chilli, lime, fish sauce, and peanuts. It's the kind of dish that makes you reach for another bite before you've finished the first.

Sticky Rice

The real deal. Served in traditional bamboo baskets. Eat it with everything. This is how you experience Lao and Northern Thai food the way it's meant to be eaten — with your hands, sharing from the same basket.

Street Food Starters

Our Chicken Satay Skewers are grilled to order and served with a rich peanut sauce and cucumber relish. Crisp Spring Rolls are light, golden, and perfect with our sweet chilli dipping sauce. Handmade Curry Puffs are filled with spiced minced meat and fried to a perfect crunch.

Mains to Share

Our Curries & Soups section features a rich Penang Curry with tender protein in a coconut milk base infused with lemongrass and spices. For something lighter, try the Fishcake Salad — Lao-style fishcakes with fresh herbs and lime dressing.

Dessert

Mango Sticky Rice — sweet, ripe mango with coconut-infused sticky rice. It's the perfect way to end any meal.
